“Playing with my friends. We play hide and seek on the playground. That helps me learn how to play with friends by being nice.”
“Playing on the playground is fun because tag can make you learn to run fast. It is fun to learn how to work on science and technology and math. That’s all I know.”
“Learning how to write is fun because I can write words now. Playing is really fun like when we play with toys during centers. At playtime we play with whatever we want, Mrs. Wheeler picks which toys during centers. I like the blocks a lot.”
“It is fun to learn my ABC’s! Each day in Kindergarten she showed me letters, like, after A, we went to B. And after B, we went to C. It was fun coloring pictures – we would make animals sometimes. Numbers are fun. We did the same thing as letters, like one, then two, then all the way to 100! I have a 100 chart!”
“When we have recess because we get a break from doing all the work. We play kickball and things like that. I feel happy because when we are doing work we don’t get to play with each other. When we do our school work we are a little bit bored because we are working on math, social studies and science.”
“Math! I like it. I like to use the square counters and do adding and subtracting. When I get the answers I am happy because I get stickers. It makes me feel proud.”
“Recess is my favorite part of the day because it’s fun when we get to play! We play kickball and dodge ball, jump rope, sidewalk chalk, basketball, football and pretend horses. I play with (my friends) and we are glad because we are together and we are having fun.”

“Because we learn about God and how people should be treated nicely. We help each other out when we need help in certain subjects.”
“We have a lot nicer teachers than other schools. They make sure you understand what they are saying if you need it and they help you. Since it’s a smaller school, they have more time to help a kid individually. They are more caring and can concentrate on one kid at a time because they don’t have as many kids to watch.”
“The people here are nice. My mom thought that the teachers here would care about helping me with my school work.”
“Because St. Michael is a smaller school and everyone gets along well. Also, they thought I would get more attention. My parents want me to get closer to Christ.”
“It is cool that we can have recess because usually you can’t in 7th and 8th grade.”
“I like having two grades together because usually there’s a whole bunch of people in one grade and here it is smaller. I guess it’s unusual.”
“Being the leaders of the school. I like to be older than the little kids who are very cool, but they need an influence that is smart.”
